Industry 4.0 and IIoT: What It Means for the Calibrated and the Calibrators
As and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) continue to evolve, both the instruments being calibrated and the processes used to calibrate them are changing rapidly.
This shift brings new opportunities for efficiency, data-driven decision-making, and connected asset management, along with new challenges in maintaining standards, traceability, and compliance. Our guest speaker will explore what these changes mean for instrumentation professionals, technicians, and organizations building or modernizing their calibration programs.

About the Speaker: Ryan Richards
Ryan Richards is the Calibration, IIoT, and WEgrid Specialist for Eastern Canada at WIKA Canada. Through his work with WIKA’s calibration portfolio, he helps organizations build calibration programs and identify the processes and products needed to meet proper calibration standards. He has seen firsthand how new technology has transformed calibration instruments and practices, and the opportunities and challenges that come with that change.
Outside of WIKA, Ryan is an ISA instructor and serves as the Canadian Ambassador for the International Centre for Industrial Transformation (INCIT). He is a past District Vice President of ISA and a past Vice President of the Canadian Process Control Association (CPCA).
