- Smart Power Supplies for Critical Power to Control Systems
- A 24VDC power supply failure for a critical process controller or device can lead to an unplanned shutdown of critical plant equipment or processes. The inability to monitor key power supply diagnostics leaves plants unable to prevent such shutdowns or anticipate potential issues. Without critical event visibility, plants don’t have the necessary tools to troubleshoot issues before they become catastrophic. Unfortunately, all power supplies have an end-of-life. Uncertainty around when a power supply will reach that point makes it difficult to plan accordingly. This session provides a real look into the application of smart power supplies and how to utilize this capability to efficiently monitor critical power to the control system.

- Jay Hendrix – Emerson
- Jay is responsible for product vision, strategy, and development for SolaHD connected products. He has more than 30 years of industry experience in product management, building controls, and technical integration. Jay holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Purdue University and a Master’s of Business Administration from DePaul University.
