SUMMARY:ISA - OT Cybersecurity Summit - Scotland
DESCRIPTION:Operational Technology Cybersecurity Summit – Scotland\n\n \nIncrease your understanding of how to use standards and conformance systems to keep operational technology (OT) safe and secure. \nFor More Information. –> OT Cybersecurity Summit – Scotland \nThis brand new event will focus on how you can protect your fortress with the ISA 62443 series of standards and related training courses. Cybersecurity is a hot topic as supply chain risk emerges as a top concern in the energy sector. A cyber breach at any level in a supply chain has the potential to take down the whole operation. \nRegulators in the North Sea are asking contractors detailed questions about OT Cybersecurity\, especially on operations classified as critical infrastructure. This increased scrutiny has resulted in more detailed contractual requirements. Insurance companies are also looking for specific details before writing a cybersecurity policy. \nISA has established a series of industrial cybersecurity standards that serve as your roadmap to improve security and protect your operations with strategies such as zero-trust architecture and OPC/protocols.

SUMMARY:Dinner Meeting - Hazardous Areas & Automation Solutions
DESCRIPTION:Update your Calendar\,  Save the Date and Plan to Join Us for our Dinner Meeting. \n\nDinner Meeting\n\n5:00 PM – Cocktails\n5:50 PM – President’s ISA/Section Updates\n6:00 PM – Dinner\n7:00 PM – Presentation\n\n\nDinner Menu\n\nTo Be Advised\n\n\n\n  \n\nPresentation\n\nHazardous Area Classifications and Automation Solutions\n\nThe hazardous location classification system in use in Canada for areas containing vapours of flammable liquids is the “Zone” system. The zone system is slightly different from the previous “Division” system of classification. Engineers often take conservative approach in specifying electrical equipment for hazardous locations. The person may lack information regarding the operations conducted in an area\, or they might not understand the behaviour of materials\, different protection methods available or the applicable code requirements. Whatever the reason\, they fail to apply the requirements of the Electrical Code in a practical fashion. This presentation will talk about basics of Hazardous area classifications and solutions to aid you in your day-to-day business.\n\n\n\n\nSpeaker\n\nRamin Vali – R. Stahl Ltd. Canada\n\nRamin is an automation engineer with experience working with several DCS companies\, and their system integrators in Canada and the Middle East. Ramin has been working for R. Stahl Ltd. Canada for about 4 years as an automation engineer. He performs technical support to the sales team and carries after-sales support to clients in Canada.\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\nSafety Protocols & Requirements\n\nAll Guests must wear a mask (or face covering) when entering the Sarnia Golf & Curling Club (SGCC) and at anytime when not seated at your table.\nHand sanitizer stations have been set up at the entrance doors.
