Adherence to Industry 4.0 and Sustainable Chemistry principles are more than ever vital in taking on these challenges. A key aspect of these are the use of inline analyzers and their intelligent automation abilities. Inline opportunities in numerous applications will be discussed as well as their best practices. Examples include distillation columns and separation units\, scrubbers and strippers\, reaction vessels\, and auxiliary processes such as waste-water treatment and Co-generation facilities. Through the applications\, measurement opportunities for pH\, ORP\, dissolved oxygen\, turbidity\, conductivity\, and gas analyzers will be considered.\n\n\n\n\nSpeaker\n\nRyan Kershaw of Mettler-Toledo\n\nDr. Martin Schümperli\nGlobal Specialist – Chemical Industries and Applications\nDr. Schümperli has extensive experience throughout the chemical industry\,\npreforming visits and consultations at over 400 chemical production sites on\nbehalf of Mettler Toledo Process Analytics. SUMMARY:Dinner Meeting - Yes You Can
DESCRIPTION:Update your calendar\, save the date and plan to join us for our Dinner Meeting. \n\nDinner Meeting\n\nCocktails: 5:00 PM\nDinner: 6:00 PM\nPresentation: 7:00 PM\n\n\nDinner Menu\n\nRomaine Hearts & Iceberg Salad\nChicken Supreme\nApple Butter Cheesecake\n\n\n\n  \n\nPresentation\n\nYes You Can – Dream Big & Dreams Do Come True\n\nDreams do come true and Wes Harding from Sarnia\, Ontario\, has proven that “anything is possible!” Wes has gone from a non-runner\, overweight couch potato at the age 40 to a six time Boston Marathon qualifier and three-time Ironman finisher all in eight years. Losing 80 pounds in the process Wes’ life changing attitude came after watching a YouTube video on Team Hoyt (a father who pushes his paralyzed son with Cerebral Palsy in road races and triathlons) entitled “CAN”. This father/son team inspired Wes to start “making a difference” in his own life and in the lives of others.\nFor the past six years Wes has been chosen one of two Canadians to represent Team Hoyt in the Boston Marathon. As a motivational speaker Wes inspires and encourages others to “dream big” and that “dreams do come true”. His message\, like the Hoyt’s motto\, is “Yes\, You Can”! As a non runner Wes’ dream was to qualify for the Boston Marathon and in April 2012\, after overcoming insurmountable odds\, that dream came true. In April 2013\, Wes co-authored his first book entitled\, “Destined To Run” (with Todd Civin\, forward by Dick Hoyt and Published by Mascot books). “Destined To Run” is more than a story about running\, it is a book about chasing after your dreams.\nAs a result of being in the heart of the Boston Marathon 2013 bombings Wes\, seeing the Hoyts example\, saw the need to make a change in his life that included others. He left his career course as an educator of twenty years and started up Canada’s first athletic ride-along organization created for those with disabilities who would normally not be able to experience endurance events such as triathlons or road races which is now called Team Hoyt Canada. The mission of Team Hoyt Canada is to enhance the lives of individuals with disabilities through running together. After hearing Wes speak you will be motivated to say\, “I CAN” do the impossible and “I CAN” make a difference.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpeaker\n\nWes Harding\n\nPresident of Team Hoyt Canada\, Boston Marathon Qualifier\, Ironman\, Motivational Speaker\, Educator\, Author\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\nReservations\, Cost & Contact Information\n\n$15.00 for ISA Members\, $25.00 for Non-Members\nAll ISA Members and Guests are requested to reserve in advance\nPlease reserve before Monday – September 18\, 2017.\n\nTo confirm your attendance\, please contact Terri Bell at Intertec.\n– Phone: 519 333 2819\n– Email: terri.bell@intertec-inst.com\n\n\nFor special dietary needs\, please contact the Sarnia Golf & Curling Club three days prior to this meeting.\n\nPhone:  519 336 2201

(There are closed loop wireless applications running in parallel to the wired loop to measure performance.)The purpose of this presentation is to present the availability of wireless technologies for open loop applications within the process plant environment. The presentation will address both proprietary and standards-based technologies and the selection criteria for choosing the correct technology that meets the needs of plant functionality and cyber security\, with a focus on practical usage in rigorous and varied environmental conditions while maintaining a level of reliability\, integrity\, safety\, maintainability and security (equivalent to a hard-wired system.  When discussing wireless systems and their design and implementation in any industrial application\, there are some very important issues that need to be addressed: \n\nHow the technology can affect the existing legacy systems.\nThe physical layer interface (I/O signals\, Ethernet\, serial\, etc.) and Industrial protocol support (e.g. Modbus) that enable existing applications to be expanded without modification.\nThe cost per loop and support/maintenance requirements of an installed wireless network.\nSpeed\, data volume\, latency\, and a level of redundancy that is compatible with plant operational requirements.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpeaker\n\nScott Keller – SignalFire Telemetry\n\nScott is the founder\, CEO and CTO of SignalFire Telemetry.\nIt was his insight that lead to SignalFire’s unique value proposition for the remote asset monitoring and control market. He brings over 20 years of technical management experience to bear\, including extensive experience in radio development\, sensors and embedded control. Scott recently served as program manager and senior consulting engineer with Venture Technologies Inc.\, an engineering consulting firm where he managed a number of telemetry and other projects. Before working at Venture\, Scott held a variety of engineering positions including Manager of the Systems Engineering group at ADE\, Director of Engineering at IN USA\, Inc.\, and member of the technical staff at GTE Labs. Scott holds a BS in Applied and Engineering Physics (A&EP) from Cornell University.\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\nReservations\, Cost & Contact Information\n\n$15.00 for ISA Members\, $25.00 for Non-Members\nAll ISA Members and Guests are requested to reserve in advance\nPlease reserve before Wednesday – November 16th\, 2016.\n\nTo confirm your attendance\, please contact Terri Bell at Intertec.\n– Phone: 519 333 2819\n– Email: terri.bell@intertec-inst.com\n\n\nFor special dietary needs\, please contact the Sarnia Golf & Curling Club three days prior to this meeting.\n\nPhone:  519 336 2201
